El Power metal es un subgénero del heavy metal que combina elementos del metal tradicional con metal neoclásico. Forma parte de una de las vertientes del speed metal. A diferencia del thrash metal (otra variante del speed metal) el power metal bien definido se concentra en la velocidad, los arreglos melódicos y la técnica instrumental. Las bandas de Power metal generalmente tienen canciones similares a himnos, con melodía y fuertes coros épicos, creando así un sonido teatral, dramático y emocionalmente poderoso. Wikipedia
